Blizzard Lighting has introduced its HighBeam™ LED Par fixture. It uses seven 15W 4-in-1 RGBW Osram LEDs, emitting light with a sharp 8° beam angle. The fixture also features 4/5/16/20 user selectable DMX channel modes, RGBW color mixing with 3-zone pixel mapping capabilities, built-in color and chase macros, built-in automated and sound active programs and variable electronic dimming and strobe. Potential applications include lighting a stage, theater, or DJ booth.

Claypaky Fixtures Illuminate Opening and Closing Ceremonies of Rio Olympic Games

BRAZIL: World acclaimed lighting designer Durham Marenghi used over 850 automated fixtures from leading Italian entertainment lighting brand Claypaky in his theatrical lighting design for this year’s Opening and Closing Ceremonies at the Rio Olympics in Brazil last October. The equipment was supplied by Italian rental company Agora and was managed by Nicola Manuel-Tallino and Giulio Rovelli.

DUBLIN – Irish lighting designer Conor Biddle, known for lighting some of the largest acts in dance and electronica, selected an array of Claypaky moving heads to illuminate the return of Ireland’s mega-rave, the Winterparty, at Dublin’s 14,500-capacity venue 3Arena. Biddle employed 12 x Mythos, 12 x A.leda K20, 16 x A.leda K10 and 19 x Sharpy which were provided by Dublin-based sound and light specialist Session Hire.

Avolites Drives Shock Rock Lighting for Marilyn Manson World Tour

SEOUL- Grammy-nominated, industrial hard-rock legend Marilyn Manson returned to Seoul for the first time in eight years as part of his solo world tour, delivering an energetic show at the Yes24 Live Hall. Lighting designer Corey Stewart drove the performance’s intense lighting using an Avolites Pearl Expert console and wing. For the South Korean date, Stewart hired the console from Seoul-based rental company TKLS. His dynamic rig consisted of Claypaky Sharpys, Martin Mac Viper Profiles, Martin Atomics and Fay Blinders.

NASHVILLE  – Hard rock band Shinedown is out on tour run with a striking lighting package provided by long time vendor Bandit Lites and designed by Sooner Routhier. With more than 10 million albums sold, the band is comprised of vocalist Brent Smith, bassist Eric Bass, drummer Barry Kerch and guitarist Zach Meyers. The band teamed up with Five Finger Death Punch on a co-headline tour across America that is filling arenas.

iHeartRadio Theater Expands Design Options with Rogue R1 FX-B

NEW YORK — The iHeartRadio Theater in TriBeCa, a 5,500-square-foot, 250-capacity venue, opened as a Clear Channel-owned performance space in 2009 and was rebranded with the iHeartRadio name in 2011. Stephen Wyker, technical director, detailed the lighting setup for the 28-by-18-foot triangular stage, where top acts perform not just for the intimate live audience, but for millions watching from afar. Wyker recently added Chauvet Rogue R1 FX-B fixtures to the rig.
