Shinedown Gets New Looks from Martin Fixtures for 2016 ‘Carnival of Madness’ Tour
DETROIT – LD Sooner Routhier of SRae Productions used a full array of Martin by Harman VDO Sceptron 10 LED video fixtures and MAC Viper Profile fixtures to create an innovative, modern and exciting lighting experience for Shinedown’s recent “Carnival of Madness” tour. After using the same lighting setup for several years, the band asked SRae Productions to create a new and modern lighting set that represented the band’s unique sound. The tour, which also featured Halestorm, Black Stone Cherry and Whiskey Myers, among others, hit a variety of venues in the Eastern and Midwest U.S. in July and August.

Montreal’s Theatre St-James Upgrades with Chauvet Professional Fixtures
MONTREAL – The Theatre St-James is a four-story building that once served as the home for the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce but now gets used for a variety of special events. Garou Blancan of Montreal’s XYZ Technologie Culturelle upgraded the lighting system within the venue using Chauvet Professional LED fixtures supplied by JAM Industries.

RUSSIA – The All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK) is currently undergoing the Russian Government program of regional TV infrastructure modernization. This has been an ongoing process over the last eight years. In 2013, the leading system integrator in the Russian Federation ‘OKNO-TV’ was involved in the system design of a local news studio production facility, which included the newsroom computer system, RCS and MAM, the Central Switching Room and the Regional Channel Continuity Suite.

BRIGHTON, U.K. – Production designers James Scott and Louis Oliver of Okulus used Claypaky’s Scenius Spot as part of their design for 2016 Brit award-winner Jack Garratt’s UK autumn tour, following the release of the multi-instrumentalist’s debut album ‘Phase’. Okulus, which has worked for the likes of Zac Brown Band, Chvrches and Bring Me The Horizon, specified 20 of the new moving head fixtures from UK rental operation Siyan Ltd.

Fresh Air Flicks Using Roland’s XS-82H Switcher to Support Mobile LED Setup
NEW YORK — Fresh Air Flicks founder/owner Glen Sanders spotted the trend of outdoor cinema early on as it gained traction in Brooklyn and other hip communities. Starting out in 2004, Sanders and Fresh Air Flicks were providing giant inflatable screens for events like “Movies with a View” that would bring as many as 8,000 people out for an evening to watch films in the park beneath the Brooklyn Bridge. As demand grew for that kind of recreation during the longer daylight hours of summer, Sanders upped his game.

MUNICH, Germany – LD Thomas Gerdon used Elation Professional lighting fixtures for the German television program “Verstehen Sie Spass,” this time for two fall season shows. Gerdon employed Elation’s Platinum FLX™ and Platinum HFX™ hybrid moving heads to light artist performances. He was also one of the first LDs anywhere to use Elation’s new Fuze Wash Z120™ LED wash light.
