Wolf Trap’s Filene Center Upgrades with grandMA2 Lighting Consoles

VIENNA, VA – Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, the only unit of the US National Park Service dedicated to presenting the performing arts, has added multiple grandMA2 lighting consoles to its Filene Center. The Filene Center is the 7,000-seat centerpiece of Vienna, Virginia-based Wolf Trap, which offers multiple amphitheaters for performances staged annually from mid-May to mid-September. A.C.T Lighting, Inc. is the exclusive distributor of MA lighting products in North America.

LOS ANGELES – Ben Rector is out on his biggest tour to date which he has whimsically named “The Biggest Tour I Have Done So Far” tour. The title alone alludes to the increasing popularity of the artist, whose brand of pop/rock ‘music with a purpose’ has resonated with fans. Lighting and production designer is Chris Lisle who is using Elation Professional ACL 360 Bar LED battens to color the singer-songwriter’s show, which is playing dates in the U.S. through October.

LITITZ, PA — 4Wall Entertainment, a national provider of stage and theatrical services, has reached an agreement to acquire the assets of Lititz, PA-based lighting, rigging, and labor provider Beame.  4Wall will be adding the entire Beame staff to the company including founders Brad Hafer and Brett Puwalski, as well as longtime account executive Bob Looney. The current Beame headquarters will be maintained and re-branded as 4Wall Pennsylvania (4Wall PA) and will continue to operate under the direction of Hafer and Puwalski.

NEW YORK – LD Freddy Thompson of JDI Productions revamped his rig for heavy metal band Killswitch Engage as they tour in support of their album, Incarnate. He chose eight Rogue R1 FX-B fixtures from Chauvet Professional, crediting the fixture for its RGBW color rendering, pixel mapping and the quickness of its 360° pan and tilt movements.

ROTHBURY, MI – For the Electric Forest Festival, which drew fans to Rothbury, MI with performances by The String Cheese Incident, Bassnectar and Major Lazer, among others, LD Jeff Ravitz worked with Bandit Lites’ Dizzy Gosnell on the best lighting choices to meet this event’s unique lighting needs. Bandit supplied GRNLite Moving Washes, GLP Impression 90s, Vari*Lite VL3000 Spots, Robe Robin LED Beams, CK Color Blast TRXs and CK ColorBlaze 72s, among other fixtures, for the event, which ran from June 23-26.
