Eight Years After Historic Iowa Flooding, New Hancher Auditorium Opens

IOWA CITY, IA – In 2008, when the Iowa River flooded and destroyed Hancher Auditorium and 12 other buildings at the University of Iowa, the loss to the community was far greater than the physical loss of those structures. Hancher Auditorium was one of the most popular venues for touring groups in the region, and the flood forced the student and traveling groups that normally used the venue to move into nearby facilities. But this week, with the grand opening of the new Hancher Auditorium, the University of Iowa and the people of Iowa City once again have a magnetic cultural center to call their own.

NEW YORK – Lighting designer Zach Bunner admits that some of his LD brethren might think that designing an arena tour for a two-time Grammy winner “without a rig full of beams and profile fixtures” would limit the looks of a show. However, Bunner proved otherwise by creating an intimate and immersive club-like feeling at venues from The Forum in Los Angeles to Madison Square Garden with a rig that relied heavily on the Rogue R2 Wash and STRIKE 4 multi formatted fixture from Chauvet Professional.

NYC– 2016 has seen rapid growth for d3 in America, with it becoming the media server of choice for many of its high profile events. Credits include the GRAMMYs, Seattle Opera, Beyonce’s Formation World Tour and the MTV Video Music Awards. FONTANA, CA — Held July 30 and 31 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, the Hard Summer Music Festival attracted thousands of hip-hop and dance music fans, who this year congregated around the racetrack to experience headliners Ice Cube and Major Lazer, as well as many other EDM acts, in its new home. Production company and Elation dealer Stage-Tech delivered a large Elation lighting package for the Hard Stage (the festival’s main stage) and the Pink Stage.
