KETTLE RIVER, MN — Monty Lee Wilkes, an occasional tour manager, noted FOH engineer and producer, passed away peacefully on Aug. 26, 2016 in hospice at his parents house after a lengthy bout with terminal cancer. He was 54. Wilkes’ work spanned nearly every musical genre, with his resume including credits with The Replacements, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Joe Strummer, Curtiss A, The Suburbs, Soul Asylum, Prince, The Smithereens, Beastie Boys, Britney Spears, The Go Go’s, Engelbert Humperdinck, Soul Asylum, The Suburbs, Babes in Toyland, Lisa Marie Presley, Red Kross, Siouxsie & The Banshees, The B-52’s and the Commodores.

OSLO, Norway — Some 17 members from Oslo’s BI Business School suffered minor injuries when part of the ceiling collapsed at the Sentrum Scene theater on August 21. According to witnesses, sections of the ceiling plaster (approximately a few centimeters in thickness) gradually began falling, first as small bits and then as large sections.

MOSCOW – The Alfa Future People 2016 electronic music and technology festival attracted 50,000 fans from 20 countries to Bolshoe Kozino, near Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, about 400km east of Moscow. Alfa Bank served as the title sponsor for the three-day, five-stage event. The lineup included a variety of internationally-known DJs including Martin Garrix, Armin Van Buuren, Axwell and Ingrosso, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. LD Marina Larikova and video designer Yury Vorontsov worked with rental companies Laser Kinetics, Light Logic and LED Group and production company MF Group. Larikova used a Hog 4 to control Clay Paky, Martin and Chromlech fixtures, and Vorontsov used a Catalyst media server and LED DMX strips.

In “The Bully”, the gifted 12 year old filmaker brings to light an important topic, through the eyes of his classmates. Jonah enlisted the help of many of his schoolmates and the school grounds as he conceived, scripted, shot and edited the film.
