NASHVILLE – “The Life & Songs of Kris Kristofferson,” a tribute concert that took place March 16 at Bridgestone Arena, featured a lineup including Emmylou Harris, Rosanne Cash, Reba McEntire, Willie Nelson, Jennifer Nettles, Eric Church, Dierks Bentley, Alison Krauss, Lady Antebellum, Lee Ann Womack, Buddy Miller, Jamey Johnson, Shooter Jennings, Darius Rucker and Hank Williams, Jr. LD Paul Hoffman used a Bandit Lites-supplied rig that included Martin MAC Vipers, Bandit 5x5s, GLP X4-10 Strips, Eurolight strips, Robe Patt 2013 and Martin MAC 2000 Wash fixtures, with a grandMA2 Full and grandMA2 Light console for control.

LINKOPING, Sweden — Swedish rockers Ghost, honored at the 2016 Grammy Awards for their album, Mellora, which includes the song, “Cirice,” recently completed a European tour with a lighting design by LD Christian Wienberg Bond. He used a rig that featured MAC Quantum Profiles and RUSH MH 6 Wash fixtures from Harman’s Martin Professional lighting division.

SOUTH BEND, IN – The city of South Bend, Indiana, which celebrated 150 years in 2015, commissioned a permanent, interactive lighting installation called River Arts to brighten what had been a gloomy downtown area. The five-part lighting attraction includes art structures, architectural lighting for a bridge and an illuminated section of the St. Joseph river. Aaron Perri, executive director of Downtown South Bend Corporation, worked for three years on a project, teaming up with LD Rob Shakespeare for the lighting design. James Thomas Engineering, part of Area Four Industries, also played a key role in the project.

MEXICO CITY – Lighting designer Dave Maxwell has been involved in Luis Miguel shows since 2008. For a string of recent sold out dates at Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City, Maxwell used 60 Elation ACL 360 Matrix moving panel LED effect lights to complement the Latin American artist’s show. Serpro Producciones provided the fixtures.

SAN FRANCISCO – Kid Cudi, known for his distinctive atmospheric and emotionally-gripping live performances has just finished the first leg of a new US tour supporting his Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven album, complete with a moody and evocative lighting design by Brett Lorins that centers on Robe moving lights. The rig included 10 MMX Spots, 12 LEDWash 300s and two LEDWash 600s with the MMX Spots being the main workhorses. This core touring package was complemented by some house lights at each venue. The lighting package was supplied by TERI Productions, coordinated by Jay Coatney and Jason Murphy.

DORTMUND, Germany – Niclen Moving Lights System GmbH continues to increase its stock of Elation Professional lighting equipment with the recent purchase of Elation ACL 360i (pictured here), ACL 360 Bar and ACL 360 Matrix LED effect lights, as well as Cuepix Panel LED matrices. The ACL fixtures are part of Elation’s increasingly popular ACL Series of high-output, narrow-beam LED effects that are seeing use in a wide variety of touring and special event applications. The Cuepix Panels are LED matrix blinders featuring 25 RGBW LEDs per panel.
