PHOENIX – Innovative Show Design has designed and installed an all-LED lighting system for this technology talk show’s new contemporary studio. The show is now airing from a new facility in Phoenix outfitted with more than 100 LED lighting fixtures from Elation Professional and Acclaim Lighting. The setup includes Elation SixBar 1000 LED battens, SixPar 200 LED PAR color changers, Colour Chorus 12 LED battens, Colour 5 Profile ellipsoidal spots, DW Fresnel dynamic white light fixtures, Elar Q1 compact PAR lights, and TVL2000 and TVL3000 white light LED Fresnels along with Quad Eye LED downlights from Elation’s affiliated company, Acclaim Lighting.

Simple Minds ‘Big Music’ Tour Lit with BMFLs

STOCKHOLM, Sweden – For  Simple Minds’ “Big Music” tour, LD Stephen Pollard expanded and scaled up the stage set and lighting rig he used in theatre venues last year, adding Robe BMFL Spot moving lights for extra visual impact as the band moved into larger venues and arenas. UK lighting and visuals rental company HSL invested in 50 new Robe BMFL Spots just before the tour went out, 24 of which were used by Steve.

We’re Talking BIG This Month

Hello readers, this month the word “BIG” springs to mind when I think of this issue. It seems that every week, we here at PLSN get a new piece of news across our desk that utters the word’s “Largest” or “Biggest Ever” in the headline.
Of course, this draws my eye every time to see what they are announcing. Half the time it’s a con job, 25 percent of the time the writer actually thought they were really the biggest, and well — sometimes it actually is.
