LD Matt Mills Lights Disturbed’s First Tour in Five Years with Martin, HES Gear

CHICAGO — Hard rock band Disturbed returned to the stage after a lengthy hiatus with a show last August at the House of Blues in Chicago. It heralded the band’s sixth studio album, Immortalized, released the same day. This year, the hard rock band has embarked on its first world tour in five years, hitting 60 cities in the U.S., Canada and Europe and teaming up with co-headliners Rob Zombie and Breaking Benjamin along the way. LD Matt Mills, who worked with the bands’ last tour in 2011, deployed a Christie Lites rig centering on Martin fixtures — MAC Quantum Washes, MAC Viper Profiles and Atomic 3000 LEDs — along with High End Systems ShapeShifters.

Servillo Brothers Light ‘La Parola Canta’ in Naples with Clay Paky Gear

NAPLES, Italy – After Le voci di dentro, the Servillo brothers have chosen the Teatro Bellini to bring their latest creation, La Parola Canta, to Naples. It is a concert, a recital and a festival – skillfully illuminated by Clay Paky –  made up of music, poetry and songs which celebrate Naples: the eternal magic of its living tradition, and the importance of the fusion of different epochs and the widest possible participation in culture.

Sido VI Tour Rig Included Mythos Fixtures, grandMA2 Consoles and MK2 Video Processing

MANNHEIM, Germany – For Germany artist Sido’s “SIDO VI” tour, Günter Jäckle and Friederike Krauch came up with the stage and lighting design for the tour, using 24 Clay Paky Mythos units, two full-size grandMA2s and one VPU plus MK2 (video processing unit). Photographer Ralph Larmann took these shots at the SAP Arena in Mannheim in late November; the tour ran through the big show in Berlin Dec. 7, 2015.

ORLANDO – Alcorn McBride, Inc. marked its 30th anniversary by celebrating its position as the leading manufacturer of show control, audio and video equipment for the theme park industry. The company got its start by founder and CEO Steve Alcorn in 1986 after his experiences working on behalf of Disney World’s EPCOT helped inspire the launch of the company. Prior to the company’s launch, Alcorn served as vice president of engineering for Linn Electronics, an electronic musical instrument manufacturer. The company is now based in Orlando, FL.

Mojo Barriers Supports Rebel Heart Tour with Madonna

MACAU, China – Mojo Barriers supplied a variety of barrier products for the front of stage and front of house production areas, for the European leg and two Asian tour dates of Madonna’s Rebel Heart World Tour. Rebel Heart Tour is the tenth worldwide tour from Madonna and supports the release of her 13th studio album of the same name. The tour kicked off Sept. 9, 20165 in Montreal, Canada and ran for six months, visiting 22 countries worldwide. Mojo Barriers was contracted to ensure audience and artist safety for all of Madonna’s 25 European tour dates, as well as at her shows in Taipei and Macau, which both took place in February 2016.

Oklahoma Church Using ArKaos Media Server for Easter-Themed Projections

TULSA, OK  – Tim Ottley, Lighting Director for Asbury United Methodist Church, Tulsa, has been using ArKaos’ MediaMaster PRO on an ArKaos PRO Stadium Server to create immersive projection mapping visuals within the interior of the church. Working with a graphic designer, Jason Yang, of Invisible Element, Ottley created an animated narrative of the Easter story as an introduction to the service that followed.

Avolites Sapphire Touch and Quartz Consoles Control All Time Low UK/Ireland Arena Tour

UK – American pop-punk fusion band All Time Low toured five of Britain’s biggest arenas in February, stunning fans with a bigger, brighter and more powerful lighting show by Jeff Maker using his Avolites Sapphire Touch console. All Time Low scored a UK number one album in 2015 with Future Hearts, elevating them to arena status with legions of new fans. Their long time lighting designer Maker responded by conceiving a sense of the design ‘being alive, to achieve the ultimate engaging experience for the audience.’

BOSTON – The band, Lettuce, touring in support of their jazz-and-funk infused Nov. 6, 2015 album release, Crush, are performing with a visual design from production designer Gabe Fraboni and lighting designer Wiley Cutler that includes a collection of Rogue fixtures from Chauvet Professional. The rig, supplied by 4Wall Entertainment, includes six Rogue R2 Spot fixtures and six Rogue R1 Washes.
