“UR Experience Tour” Ushers In New Lighting Fixtures
LAS VEGAS — On Nov. 22, 2014, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Usher’s “UR Experience” tour was in the house, the very night that the 2014 Parnelli Awards were staged in an adjacent venue. Kevin M. Mitchell, who also serves as producer/writer for the Parnelli Awards, was understandably absent from the Usher concert in Las Vegas, but still managed to cover the tour for the Feb. 2015 issue of PLSN. A number of equipment manufacturers, including Elation, TMB and GLP, have also noted how the tour served as a visual springboard of sorts, for gear ranging from Elation’s Sniper to TMB’s Solaris Mozart and GLP’s impression X4 S LED fixtures.

Robe Tests and Confirms BMFL 1700W Lamp Life Expectancy at 750 Hours
ROZNOV pod RADHOSTEM, Czech Republic – Robe Lighting’s R&D department has tested the longevity of the Osram Lok-it HTI 1700/PS lightsource used in Robe’s BMFL fixtures. Robe found that, when run consistently in its brightest 1700 W mode, the lamp life expectancy is the same as when the fixture is run in 1200W and 1500W modes – 750 hours.

Live Broadcast of Kayousai 2014 in Japan Includes Ayrton IntelliPix R
OSAKA, Japana – Ayrton’s IntelliPix-R LED panels played a prominent role in the lighting design at the annual Japanese music show, Best Hits Kayousai 2014. The show, which recognizes some of Japan’s most popular artists of the year, took place in November at the Festival Hall, Osaka and was broadcast live on the NNN network. Over 18 acts, including Exile Tribe and May J, performed during the two-hour show.
