Shanghai Symphony Hall Lighting Installation Includes ETC Gear

SHANGHAI, China – The 135-year-old Shanghai Symphony Orchestra now has a new home in the Shanghai Symphony Hall, which celebrated its long-awaited grand opening in September 2014. The venue was equipped with a full complement of ETC equipment, including a Sensor3 Power Control system with ThruPower modules, Source Four PAR fixtures and an Eos-family lighting control system.

Butch Allen Uses Chauvet Professional Q-Wash Fixtures for “Dancing With The Stars” Live Tour

LOS ANGELES – LD Butch Allen included Q-Wash 560Z-LED fixtures from Chauvet Professional in the rig for the sold-out, live touring version of TV’s Dancing With The Stars. Ray Woodbury of RK Diversified Entertainment helped put together a rig that, while providing ample visual punch, could also be shoehorned into a one-trailer lighting production. The rig also includes Chauvet Professional’s Rogue R2 Beam fixtures.

Clay Paky Mythos Fixtures Make U.S. TV Debut on CMT’s “Ultimate Kickoff Party”

DALLAS – CMT’s “Ultimate Kickoff Party,” a 90-minute live concert broadcast on CMT from the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas on Jan. 9, also marked the U.S. TV debut for Clay Paky’s Mythos fixtures. Morris Light & Sound provided the gear for LD Mike Swinford’s concert lighting design for the event, which coincided with the College Football Playoff National Championship and featured performances from Toby Keith and Lady Antebellum, among others.

WILLEBROEK, Belgium — AED Distribution, which was named distributor for QSC Pro Audio in Germany and the U.K. in addition to Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, has staffed up to support those new responsibilities, adding Ian Ruhback, Emma O´Sullivan and Carsten Schiedeck. Chinchilla Theatrical Putting Idle Sets to Work

ATLANTA — Chinchilla Theatrical announced that it is now offering a managed set rental program that could help theatres make money from sets that are now just taking up storage space. The scenic division of the theatrical “concierge” service company handles the details of getting used sets to where they’re needed for new staged productions. Between shows, sets are stored in Chichilla’s new Atlanta facility. Launched this year, the managed set rental program is starting off with sets for Annie, Hairspray, Spamalot, Grease and Fiddler on the Roof from client Augusta Players in Augusta, GA.
