MG 3D Laser Theater at Moody Gardens Using Christie Projection System

GALVESTON, TX – D3D Cinema and Moody Gardens announced that the MG 3D Laser Theater at Moody Gardens is the first institution in the world to feature a giant screen 6-Primary (6P) laser projection system. The setup includes Christie’s 6P laser-illuminated 4K-resolution 3D dual projector system, used to light up the venue’s 60 by 80-foot projection screen with imagery that’s nearly 3.5 times brighter than the current industry standard. The system also includes new 3D glasses technology using 6P eyewear designed and manufactured by Infitec GmbH. The 1.4 gain premium white screen was provided by MDI.

Nearly 300 friends and members of the live event industry gathered at PRG’s facility in San Fernando, CA on Dec. 7 to send off one our own, Patrick Stansfield. Stansfield was a tour manager who worked with such acts as Santana, the Rolling Stones, and most notably, Neil Diamond for 25 years (Diamond and many from his organization attended the event).

I was given the band’s artwork as a starting piece; this we turned into some fantastic looking set pieces which have been the foundation of this album’s campaign from early on. Using lighting, lasers and video we managed to produce an ever-changing, ever-improving show.”
