VICKSBURG, MS — André Huff, owner of Limelite Design Service, once again relied upon Avolites products to control the lighting rig at the Miss Mississippi beauty pageant. For the event, which included three nights of preliminary completion in mid-July, Huff used Avolites’ Sapphire Touch, a Tiger Touch, a Titan Mobile and an AI Media Server.

Chicago Gospel Music Awards Gets Assist from RGB Lights

CHICAGO — RGB Lights handled the design, rendering and production for the 2014 Chicago Gospel Music Awards, which were held June 13 at the 10,000-seat House of Hope in Chicago. RGB used an HES Hog 4 Full Boar console to control Clay Paky Sharpys, ColorBlast TRX and ColorBlaze fixtures. Also used: Radiance hazers and the venue’s followspots.

SPAARNWOUDE, The Netherlands — The main stage design at this year’s DanceValley EDM extravaganza, staged in this Amsterdam suburb Aug. 2, featured a design by 250K and Andre Beekmans from The Art of Light. They used nearly 230 Robe moving lights supplied by The Purple Group. The main stage featured Steve Angello, Nicky Romero, DJ Chuckie and others and the event, which featured eight other EDM arenas, drew a crowd totaling close to 40,000.

NASHVILLE – For Miranda Lambert’s Platinum tour, in support of the artist’s latest album release, LD Chris Lisle specified a Bandit Lites-supplied rig that includes fixtures from Vari-Lite (VL3500 Washes), Martin (MAC Vipers) and Chauvet (Legend Beams and Nexus 7x7s) to complement the visual centerpiece, a 50-by-30 foot (WxH) picture frame/video screen element. The tour kicked off July 10 and runs through Sept. 20, then resumes with another North American tour leg in early 2015.
