As Arcade Fire Reflektor Tour Ends, LD Chris Bushell Credits Avo Gear

LONDON – Faced with delivering a complex show design capable of fitting into every kind of venue, LD Chris Bushell turned to Avolites’ Sapphire Touch console for Arcade Fire’s Reflektor tour. He explains, “I needed a console that would allow me to recreate my design as quickly and efficiently as possible in each space. Luckily the Avolites Sapphire Touch not only manages to do what all other desks do, but it’s also packaged in a much easier to access and more intuitive platform, which means I can focus on the creative side of my job rather than the number crunching aspect.”

PRAGUE — TD Promo has been supplying Robe moving lights for three Czech rock bands bands this year. All have been performing throughout the Czech Republic, with a few gigs in Slovakia as well. LONDON — Sir Elton John partnered with UK charity SportsAid to deliver a unique solo concert at Stoke Park Country Club in Buckinghamshire, near London on June 28. Lighting specialist White Light supplied lighting for the event, which raised more than £300,000 to help young athletes in their pursuit of Paralympic or Olympic success.

SCHIJNDEL, The Netherlands — The Purple Group, founded by Harry Zinken in 1989, has been relying on the Robe brand in recent years for a growing share of its rental inventory. After Robe’s ROBIN series was launched in 2010, The Purple Group’s Robe purchases expanded further. The company can now offer clients more than 900 moving light fixtures, and more than 200 of those are Robe units. Zinken credited Robe and also its distributor, Controllux, for their service and support.
