Vista Systems URS Supports Fiat-Chrysler Investor Day Meeting

DETROIT – As part of the renovation of its amphitheater, Fiat-Chrysler used a Vista Systems URS-1608 Universal Routing Switcher to support video feeds. Sources were a variety of graphics computers, two laptops running Playback Pro, and a switched HDSDI program feed. Chuck Laszyca, Chief Technical Officer at TVS Communications Solutions explains that, “since all the feeds were to discrete displays it was the perfect application for the URS.  Four outputs with transitions fed the Crestron DM system that provided four unique signals going out to all these rooms.  The remaining four outputs were used as a combination of “Source” and “Confidence” monitoring.”

Entec Tours With Ian Anderson

Entec is supplying lighting and sound for Ian Anderson’s current UK concert tour. Anderson, best known as lead singer, flautist and acoustic guitarist for rock band Jethro Tull is enjoying performing material from his latest album, Homo Erraticus. The show is divided into two halves. The first is a performance of Homo Erraticus in its entirety, and the second is a selection of greatest hits from the Jethro Tull era so two completely different approaches are needed to lighting the show.

Clay Paky B-EYEs Elevate Easter Worship Experience for North Carolina’s Elevation Church

MATTHEWS, N.C. – Elevation Church added Clay Paky A.leda B-EYE K20 LED-based moving lights to the extensive roster of AV equipment it used for a series of Easter worship experiences this year. The Easter worship experience featured seven different elements: four worship songs, an opener, a closer and sermon, each of which were programmed to have a different look.  LD Andy Bentley and a team of Elevation volunteers mounted the B-EYEs on the upstage truss; in addition, nine Clay Paky Alpha Spot HPE 1500s were positioned on the deck upstage.

Kinesys Announces Automation Sales in Taipei, Seoul

LONDON — Kinesys, based here, announced two major sales and technical partnerships in Asia. Taipei, Taiwan-based Aurora bought an Elevation 1+ system for use with their CM Varistar hoists and beam trolleys. They also have Kinesys Rigger Remote handsets for local control of the Elevations and a Kinesys Array PD-ES for power distribution. Colour of Light, based in Seoul, South Korea, purchased 24 channels of Elevation 1+ drives with Kinesys Libra load cell integration and monitoring using the LibraCELL and LibraPRO products.

Madison Square Garden Glows Rangers Blue for Stanley Cup Finals

NEW YORK — The 2014 Stanley Cup Finals went bi-coastal June 4-13 with hockey games played at both the New York Rangers’ Madison Square Garden (MSG) and the Los Angeles Kings’ Staples Center. The Rangers and MSG management turned to Barbizon Lighting, 4Wall New York, Tinc Productions and B&G Electric to set MSG’s exterior aglow in Rangers team colors. The design from LDs Al Crawford and Zak Al-Alami stoked Rangers pride, but the Kings still claimed the cup.
