Read More »ESPOO, Finland — The original U.K. singing talent competition, Pop Idol, ran on ITV from 2001 to 2003, and while it has been on hiatus in the U.K. since then, the U.S. version, American Idol, secured a larger viewership than any other American TV show for an eight-year span (from the 2003/2004 season to 2010/2011). For the current season of Idols in Finland, LD Mikki Kunttu, the lighting, visuals and set designer, specified 36 Robe Pointe fixtures, supplied by Akuntehdas. The show gets recorded at Barona Arena in Espoo in front of a live audience of 1,500 and broadcast on MTV3.
