MARSEILLE, France — Fort Saint-Jean, built in 1660 by France’s King Louis XIV, was updated in 2013 with a new bridge to MuCEM, the first French national museum to be located outside Paris. The structure also now has a new architectural lighting design by L’Agence Lumière that includes the use of 17 Martin Exterior 400 Image Projectors, each with rotating gobo and color wheels and seven 50W white LED light sources.

HSL Provides Gear, Crew for Creamfields 2013

BLACKBURN, U.K. — HSL, based here, provided gear and crew to support the 2013 Creamsfields festival, which featured sets from ex-Swedish House Mafia DJs Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso. HSL’s Mike Oates worked with MJM Management and LarMac Live along with LD Ian Tomlinson. The rigs included fixtures from Robe, Clay Paky and Martin, driven by grandMA and ChamSys consoles.

Toby Keith Tours with Rig from Bandit Lites

NASHVILLE — Toby Keith’s Hammer Down Tour started in June and runs through October. Bandit Lites provided gear for the lighting design by LD Seth Jackson and co-designer Nathan W. Scheuer. The initial design, formulated in early 2013, needed to be modified after the tragic loss of Toby Keith’s longtime bass player, Chuck Goff, who was killed in an auto accident. The 2013 trek’s set design also differed sharply from Toby Keith’s past tours, with elaborate set elements replaced by spare, vertical lighting looks.
