Viss Lighting Kingkong 10/20 LED Screens

Kingkong 10 (10mm pixel pitch) and Kingkong 20 (20mm pixel pitch, pictured here) LED display screens, from Shenzhen, China-based Viss Lighting, are offered with ingress protection (IP) ratings range from 54 to an optional 65 for outdoor use. The screens offer brightness ranges of 3000-5000 nits (10mm) and 4200 nits (20mm) and viewing angles of 120/120 (10mm) and 140/140 degrees (20mm). Transparency is indexed at 21 percent (10mm) and 40 percent (20mm). Product features include die-cast aluminum alloy construction, an auto-locking design for quick installation, and the ability to fit eight units in a single flight case. The 640 by 640 by 100mm panels weigh 9kg (10mm) and 8kg (20mm).

Video Feature at Swedish Museum Relies on Dataton Watchout

LINKÖPING, Sweden — Sweden’s National Museum of Science and Technology (Tekniska museet) has drawn more than 300,000 visitors with its 100 Innovations exhibition since it premiered in Feb. 2012. One of the exhibition highlights, an hourly screening called “The Brain,” relies on Dataton Watchout multi-image and presentation software along with six projectors that map individual sections of video across a 6-by-12-meter curved video wall display.

U.K. Rigging Conference to Include Structures

LONDON — The fourth annual PLASA Rigging Conference, set for Oct. 7-8 at ExCeL London, will expand this year to focus on structures as well as rigging issues. Empire State Building Lights Up for July 4 Celebration with Pixel-Mapped Display

NEW YORK — Equipped with new LED gear receptive to pixel-mapped programming, the Empire State Building featured an elaborate lighting design synching the artistry of LD Marc Brickman, music chosen by Usher and the finale of the annual Macy’s Fireworks Spectacular. Brickman relied upon a grandMA2 lighting console and MA VPU plus video processing unit for control for the event. The light show was also synched with radio broadcasts and featured during a two-hour special on NBC.

Fantasy Springs Casino Anticipates Jackpot in Energy Savings, Rebates with LEDtronics Installation

INDIO, CA — Fantasy Springs Casino, which is owned and operated by Cabazon Band of Mission Indians, is expecting to save 291,000 kWh and receive a $32,000 rebate after switching to LED lighting for the casino/hotel’s parking structure. LEDtronics provided 41-watt LED luminaires to replace 150W HPS lights for the resort’s parking garage structure and T8 tubelights for uplighting outside the structure.
