NEW YORK — For the annual “Christmas in August” promotional event for the 2013 Radio City Christmas Spectacular, which took place under the venue’s marquee on Aug. 13, MSG Entertainment featured its Rockettes, Santa Claus, nativity scene animals and a freshly-carved Okamoto Studios ice sculpture along with free cranberry-apple ice pops. Harman is offering a new front lens replacement kit to turn its MAC Viper AirFX into what is effectively a new fixture, the Martin MAC Viper Beam. The final fixture in the MAC Viper line, the MAC Viper Beam has a linear zoom system that projects a very narrow pencil beam of high-intensity light. MUNICH – The lighting department of the Bayerischen Staatsoper (Bavarian State Opera), under the direction of Michael Bauer, specified a new ETC Gio lighting control desk for Munich Opera’s recent open-air festival. This year’s Munich Opera Festival, from June to July, kicked off with a spectacle. Richard Wagner, Giuseppe Verdi, and the Bavarian State Opera all marked their 200th birthday this year. To celebrate, the Opera staged Wagner vs. Verdi, a playful competition in which the two great composers meet each other as giant marionettes in the plaza outside the Bavarian State Opera House.
