XL Video US Reorganizes, Names Greg Gardner COO

ATLANTA — XL Video, which is reorganizing its U.S. operations, named Greg Gardner chief operations officer of XL Video US. The company said it is now merging the management structure for its operations in Atlanta and Los Angeles. Gardner, who reports to Rene de Keyzer, will work with Cary Tan, chief financial officer of XL Video US, to implement the merged company structure.

Three PLASA Photometrics Standards Up for Review

NEW YORK – Three of PLASA’s published photometrics standards are being considered for reaffirmation. PLASA is looking for feedback from the industry, with comments due by April 30. The standards being considered involve photometric performance data for entertainment lighting, standards for lens quality measurements for pattern projecting lighting, and tungsten-halogen lamp sources used in convention centers/trade show booths.

Rigger Killed in Laura Pausini Concert Staging Collapse

REGGIO CALABRIA, Italy — Matteo Armelini, 32, a rigger who was working with other crew members in preparation for Laura Pausini’s concert March 5 at the PalaCalafiore here, died at the scene when staging elements fell on him from above at about 2 a.m. Two others helping secure the lighting rig for the central portion of the three-stage set received minor injuries.
