ADLIB Finishes Year of Comic Proportions with Russell Howard Tour

LIVERPOOL, UK – ADLIB finished out the year supplying lighting, sound equipment and crew to the final leg of comedian Russell Howard’s “Right Here Right Now” UK arena tour. ADLIB’s LD Ian Tomlinson designed the tour’s lighting. With just Howard and a single chair onstage, the challenge was on to make it an intimate and friendly environment for the delivery of a comedy show in a series of larger venues.

Jands Vista Gets Festive at White’s Chapel UMC

DALLAS – Three Jands Vista T2 consoles are controlling lighting and media at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church (UMC) in Dallas, Texas. Church Creative Director Tim Georgeff had his wish of a festive facade carried out with the help of Alford Media’s Steve Alford and local graphic designer David Koss with the show, “Celebrate The Light.” Projected onto the front of the church, the light display drew crowds six times per night leading up to Christmas.

HSL Supplies Lighting for British Military Tournament

LONDON – HSL supplied the lighting equipment to the 2011 British Military Tournament at Earls Court in London. LD Steve Sinclair’s design required a big rig to showcase a presentation from a cast of 700 troops, armed forces bands and 100 horses. The horses presented a special challenge: lighting had to be angled and positioned so as not to spook them with shadows or other effects.

Raves for Robe at Techno Event

GHENT, Belgium – The 2011 I Love Techno (ILT) event needed lighting that could stand up to the non-stop, fast-paced 12-hour techno dance rave for 35,000 attendees. Event LD, video and production designer Thomas Boets of LD Productions specified more than 100 Robe ROBIN 600E spot and LEDWash moving lights to illuminate the Blue Room, one of five arenas. The ILT took place at the Flanders Expo in Ghent, Belgium.

MIDDLETON, WI – The downtown skyline of the historic Sundance Square in Fort Worth, TX has an enhanced lighting display this year. The new system employs approximately 7,600 LED fixtures mounted along the rooflines, vertical corners and windows of 20 different Sundance buildings. LD Dall Brown chose the ETC Unison Mosaic show-control system to allow Sundance Square employees to use their desktop computers to fire off their choice of programmed color sequences, effects or holiday shows programmed in by Jeff Mabray.

CHICAGO – This year the seasonal light display won’t be taken down and discarded, as in years past. The Chicago Loop Alliance partnered with Traxon & e:cue to add permanent lights that could be reprogrammed for new festive looks for all holidays and special occasions throughout the next five years. The display also syncs to music and announcements. The permanent lighting accents are called “Lightscape.”
