New York’s Christmas Ball Landmark Finally Under Lights
The red Christmas Balls on 6th Avenue across from Radio City Music Hall is a famous display that has gone unlit, until this year. With help from Tom Brady of Knight Electrical, Jeff Kinsler of General Electric, and Times Square Lighting, “it’s now a well-lit gem,” says Rob Riccardelli, St., president of Times Square Lighting.
The display is using 12 customized Times Square Lighting OD64M outdoor PARs configured with 150-watt PAR64 metal halide lamps in spot and flood beam patterns. Read More »

MOSCOW – Robe moving lights added highlights to the heavyweight bout at Moscow’s M1 Global MMA (mixed martial arts) Challenge. Headliners Fedor ‘The Last Emperor’ Emelianenko and Jeff ‘The Snowman’ Monson entertained a crowd of 15,000 – including Russian’s Prime Minister Vladimir Putin – and was televised live. Rental company TOK in northwest Russia supplied the technical production.

DALLAS – When Northern Kentucky University (NKU) decided to implement a school-wide “Green” initiative, lighting designer Terry Powell called on Adam Hayward at Vincent Lighting Systems to overhaul his lighting rig. NKU’s budget allowed them to purchase more than originally specified, ending with 24 PL3 Wash luminaires from Philips Selecon and a Palette VL control console from Philips Strand Lighting.

Clay Paky Sharpys, grandMA2 for Latin Grammys
BERGAMO, Italy – LD Carlos Colina specified 50 Clay Paky Sharpy lighting fixtures and grandMA2 lighting systems for the 12th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, telecast live Nov. 10 on Univision Network. Atomic Lighting of Lititz, PA, supplied the equipment for the second consecutive year. This year’s show took place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
