Electrosonic, Scharff Weisberg Support AV at Expanded Museum of the Moving Image

ASTORIA, NY — Working with designer Josh Weisberg of Scharff Weisberg, Electrosonic provide an AV installation for the Museum of the Moving Image that included a 50-by-9-foot projected video mural for a seven-minute video art piece, City Glow (2005) by Chiho Aoshima in collaboration with animator Bruce Ferguson. The upgrades are part of a three-year, $67-million remodel and expansion.

ARCUS Lighting Germany Now Offering Monthly Wholehog Seminars

AUSTIN, TX – High End Systems, a Barco company, has announced that ARCUS Lighting, the exclusive distributor of High End Systems and Flying Pig Systems in Germany, is now a certified Wholehog training center.  Starting in October 2011, ARCUS will hold monthly two-day training courses free-of-charge at their Paderborn, Germany offices. ARCUS Lighting staff members have been certified by High End Systems to teach programming and operation of Wholehog consoles including the Wholehog 3, Road Hog Full Boar, Road Hog and Hog 3PC software.  Utilizing the latest software, students will learn in-depth procedures for setting up and operating shows on Wholehog consoles.  Each class utilizes Road Hog Full Boar consoles connected to WYSIWYG for hands-on learning.  Students work 2 per console as they partake in lessons designed to replicate real world situations.

PLSN Student Reporter Announced

LAS VEGAS, NV – At the end of August, PLSN announced the search for the first PLSN Student Reporter for the 2011 LDI Show sponsored by Chauvet. Throughout September, college and university students within the U.S. submitted short videos explaining a new product and demonstrating why they should be chosen. On Sept. 30, the search concluded. After a week of watching hours submitted videos and follow up phone interviews, Kent Laue has been named the first PLSN Student Reporter.

X Factor Rig Includes Martin Gear

PASADENA, CA – The American premiere of The X Factor took place Sept. 21 on Fox, and included auditions taped from live events staged across the U.S. The show featured a lighting design by Tom Kenny using a rig that included 40 Martin Professional MAC 2000 Wash XB moving heads and Martin LC Series LCD Panels.
