VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – One of the longest-running programs in broadcast history, CBN’s The 700 Club, had been using an analog lighting system for much of its run — the last 30 of 45 on-air years. The show, which is accessible to 1.5 billion people around the world and airs weekdays, was due for a technical overhaul from lighting fixtures to control. Their new future-proofed system includes a hybrid lighting rig of ETC Selador LED luminaires and conventional fixtures controlled by an ETCNet3 network with an Eos system at the front. It was recently installed with the help of ETC (Electronic Theatre Controls, Inc.) and 4Wall Entertainment and without interrupting the live schedule.
Read More »LONDON – XL Events installed two large LED screens in London’s Trafalgar Square, one of the main public viewing areas for the live TV broadcast for the wedding between Prince William and Catherine Middleton. XL Events worked with event producers Jack Morton Worldwide, which also arranged for four similar format/concept sites across London for the wedding. An estimated 1 million people lined the streets, and the broadcast was seen by close to 2 billion people.

Barbizon Lighting NY was the integrator and supplier for the lighting, working with Beck Studios, the rigging company. The Miller Theatre is the latest addition to the Miller Performing Arts Center, which features the C.D. Smith III Flexible Theatre, a black-box space; The Rod Brown Acting Studio; dance and instrumental music rehearsal halls; a scene shop; and faculty offices.

Read More »NEW YORK, NY – White Light has been chosen to supply the lighting to Shrek, the musical adaptation of the Dreamworks Animation film that has already been greeted with acclaim in New York and on its current US tour. The stage version of Shrek has been created by a hugely experienced theatrical team, including directors Jason Moore and Rob Ashford, choreographer Josh Prince, designer Tim Hatley and lighting designer Hugh Vanstone. Shrek marks White Light's second ‘green' collaboration with Vanstone this year, having also supplied the lighting equipment for his design for The Wizard of Oz!
