NEW YORK – Two draft documents have been added for public review on the PLASA website through May 30, 2011. They are ANSI E1.2 – 2006, Entertainment Technology – Design, Manufacture and Use of Aluminum Trusses and Towers, which is being considered for reaffirmation, and BSR E1.24 – 201x, Entertainment Technology – Dimensional Requirements for Stage Pin Connectors, which is a draft of a revision to the existing ANSI E1.24 – 2006.

Philips Vari-Lite Introduces Five Smaller Luminaires

Based upon the technologies inside two of their fixtures, Philips Vari-Lite has announced the new VLX3 LED Wash, VL400 Spot, VL440 Spot, VL770 Spot and the VL880 Spot luminaires. Based on the VLX Wash luminaire technology, the VLX3 Wash uses three LED engines to offer colors, intensity and a multi-year source life. The three, replaceable 120-watt RGBW LED chipsets provide output that offers three times the efficacy of comparable tungsten sources.  The the total system provides approximately 6,000 lumens of white light output, and 10,000 lamp hours.
