24 Designers Knighted at Tenth Annual Knight of Illumination Awards

LONDIN – Sept. 17 marked the tenth anniversary of the prestigious Knight of Illumination (KOI) Awards, held at the Eventim Apollo in London. During the evening event, 24 respected designers were ‘knighted’ – and bestowed with the iconic KOI sword. The event was hosted by production designer Ola Melzig, of Eurovision Song Contest fame. More than 500 entertainment technology industry professionals gathered together to celebrate the achievements of the many international lighting and video designers whose work on shows across the UK earned them a coveted place on the shortlist for this year’s KOI Awards.

U2, Ed Sheeran Cancel St. Louis Shows Amid Civil Unrest and Fan Safety Concerns

ST. LOUIS – U2 and Ed Sheeran canceled shows planned in St. Louis on Sept. 16 and 17 a day after clashes took place between police and demonstrators objecting to the outcome of the Anthony Lamar Smith murder trial. A judge ruled Sept. 15 that former St. Louis police officer Jason Stockley, who shot and killed Smith through the driver-side door window after a high-speed case on Dec. 20, 2011, was not guilty of premeditated murder despite potentially incriminating remarks recorded during the chase.

2017 Colors Of Ostrava Festival Lit with Robe Fixtures

OSTRAVA, Czech Republic — Robe moving lights made a major contribution at the 2017 Colors Of Ostrava (COO) festival with nearly 100 fixtures utilized to light the ArcelorMittal Stage in a stylish and flexible production design created by Kamil Kruzik. The lights were supplied by oneAVteam, the largest audio visual rental group in Central Europe. Three companies cooperated on this project – AV MEDIA, RentalPRO and YVENTECH. The annual four day international multi-genre Festival is staged on the site of the former ironworks at Dolní Vítkovice, Ostrava, Czech Republic.
