A Little Night Music for Robe at RADA

LONDON – Award winning lighting designer Paul Pyant returned to London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) to light a production of the Steven Sondheim classic, A Little Night Music directed by Edward Kemp and staged at RADA’s Jerwood Vanbrugh Theatre in central London. Robe enjoy a close ongoing working relationship with RADA, making their latest technologies available for students to use across the three main venues. Paul’s design for this production utilized Robe’s DL7S LED profiles and the new Spiider LED wash beam moving lights, together with other moving and conventional fixtures.

Soundgarden 2017 Tour Cut Short by Death of Chris Cornell

COLUMBUS, OH – Soundgarden, which had performed 12 of the 18 shows slated on the band’s 2017 reunion tour, canceled the last six shows after the death of frontman Chris Cornell around midnight after the band’s May 17 show in Detroit. The death of Cornell, 52, the Seattle grunge rock icon who also garnered acclaim as frontman for Audioslave, Temple of the Dog and his own solo shows, had been classified as a suicide by a medical examiner.

Elation Professional is offering a new IP65-rated version of its Paladin, a highly versatile hybrid LED luminaire that functions as a blinder, strobe and high-output wash light. Adding to its flexibility, this multi-functional light also houses a motorized zoom for full beam control and its IP65 rating means it can be used on all types of events without the need for weather protection. The fixture features 24 40W RGBW LEDs with a total 990 watts of power for intense and colorful effects. RGBW color mixing gives a full spectrum of color options, including high-impact white light. A motorized zoom expands the beam from 9 to 25 degrees, with output at its narrowest angle measured at 43,240 lux at 9.8 feet (3m). Multiple pixel zone control can be incorporated for eye candy looks. The Paladin includes smooth 16-bit dimming with variable dimming curve modes available. The show took place at the International Exhibition Centre in Kiev, Ukraine.
