The Event Safety Alliance Joins ETCP Council

NEW YORK — The Event Safety Alliance (ESA) has accepted a seat on the Entertainment Technician Certification Program (ETCP) Council and Steve Adelman, Head, Adelman Law Group, PPLC will serve as the representative. The ETCP Council is the governing body which manages the development and implementation of ETCP’s certification in the areas of Rigger — Arena, Rigger — Theatre, Entertainment Electricians and Portable Power Distribution Technician.

 MONTREAL – When Hakkasan Group opened the new Jewel Nightclub at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, local integrator National Technology Associates (NTA) implemented switches from LUMINEX Network Intelligence to build a reliable converged over-IP network solution for all video, lighting, audio and signage devices and even laser in the night spot. .Jewel  Nightclub is a 24,000-square-foot, jewel-toned environment replete with innovative technology.    Starting at the entry, a massive wall of mirrored LED video screens runs across columns and stairs to accent the architecture of the space and draw attention to the mezzanine level.

NYC – Christien Methot served as lighting designer for the World Humanitarian Day Concert at the United Nations in August and used a number of Elation Professional and ADJ dynamic lighting fixtures to light the event. The concert, held August 19 at General Assembly Hall at the United Nations in New York City, starred American actor and singer Leslie Odom Jr., winner of the 2016 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Aaron Burr in the hit musical Hamilton.

NEW ORLEANS – Although the Crescent City may be more known for Mardi Gras, it also does one heck of a job on Halloween. This much was readily apparent to the 100,000-plus fans who turned out to New Orleans City Park October 27-29 to enjoy the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience, or Voodoo Fest as it is more commonly known. A must-stop venue for many of those visitors was the LePlur Stage, epicenter of the festival’s EDM centric acts, a stellar group that included The Chainsmokers, Party Favor, Die Antword, DJ Mustard, Black Tiger Sex Machine and Cakes Da Killa, to name a few.

USA – The ESTA Control Protocols Plugfest organizers announced today that informal round table discussions for product developers have been added to the event’s program.  Subject matter experts from the Control Protocols Working Group will share their knowledge on RDM Proxy servers, RDM Queued Messages, RDM Status Messages and sACN IGMP support. The next ESTA Control Protocols Plugfestis scheduled to take place January 20 thru January 23, 2017, at the D/FW Marriott Solana in Westlake, Texas. Everyone is welcome to attend!

NASHVILLE  – The 2016 CMA Awards Ceremony, broadcast live on Nov. 2 to millions of viewers on CBS, marked a 50-year milestone and bestowed honors on a number of longtime Bandit Lites clients. Honorees included Garth Brooks, Carrie Underwood, Little Big Town and Thomas Rhett, among others. Garth Brooks’ triumphant 2016 was capped off with the highest honors of the night as he was crowned Entertainer of the Year.
