PixelFLEX LED Video Display Panels Part of Macy’s “Store of the Future”
COLUMBUS, OH — On Aug. 11, 2016, Macy’s followed up a previous announcement in late 2015 that it would be shedding 35 to 40 stores with plans to shutter 100 additional locations, or about 15 percent of the remaining 769 retail locations. But in late June, the company also made clear that it was intent upon retooling those that remain, unveiling its “Store of the Future” concept at a Macy’s location in Columbus, OH. Macy’s turned to Gaiam, the yoga and fitness brand, for a design assist, and also introduced Gaiam to Dallas-based Reflect, who has been working with Macy’s for a number of years as their instore digital media partner. Reflect’s Matt Schmitt and Chas Thornhill worked with Gaiam visual merchandising manager Hannah Gilmore on a visual solution that included PixelFLEX’s 3.9mm FLEXLite NXG LED video panels, which are serviceable from front and rear.
