UTICA, NY — When Heartland Media station WKTV set out to enhance the viewer experience by upgrading its live news productions to HD, they turned to Hitachi DK-Z50 multi-purpose, HDTV box cameras to provide exceptional-quality video acquisition. Supplied by Hitachi reseller Com Tech, the cameras have delivered solid reliability while elevating the visual fidelity of WKTV’s newscasts. Five Hitachi DK-Z50 cameras are deployed throughout the news studio, under the control of a Ross Overdrive automated production system.

Dreamedia Events in Northern Australia Stocks Up on Clay Paky Gear

DARWIN, Australia – Darwin’s Dreamedia Events now has a Clay Paky package that includes eight Sharpys, eight A.leda B-EYE K20s and eight Mythos fixtures. Managing director Chris O’Brien comments that he was first drawn to Clay Paky because the brand had a reputation for robustness and reliability. “Up here in the Northern Territory all technology is up against the elements,” he said. “You really have to thoroughly research for fixtures that will survive in 100% humidity, be able to function under extreme dust, be easy to clean and are light in weight.”

Voit Lites Acquires First Clay Paky Scenius Profiles in the U.S.

BURBANK, CA – Volt Lites has taken delivery of the first Clay Paky Scenius Profiles in the U.S., according to A.C.T Lighting, Inc., the distributor of Clay Paky fixtures in North America.  Voit Lites, which opened in 2010, added 24 of the luminaires to its inventory. The company already has a complement of Clay Paky Sharpy and Mythos fixtures. Clay Paky’s Scenius Profile fixture debuted at Prolight + Sound earlier this year, joining Clay Paky’s Scenius Spot fixtures, which had debuted in 2015.

The company was incorporated by Mr Wallace Greig on June 21, 1976 as McCormack Greig Company, initially as a worldwide distributor for GE Lighting. VANCOUVER, BC – Under the working title “Hidden Fortress,” filming for the third installment of the Planet of the Apes commenced in the Lower Mainland of Vancouver in October 2015. Production crews have chosen to utilize Larson Electronics’ explosion proof fluorescent light fixtures on set, as well as their four-foot hazardous location light fixtures. Larson Electronics’ four foot, two-lamp fluorescent light fixtures are being used for War for the Planet of the Apes, due out next summer.
