MONTREAL – Montreal’s 22nd Bal en Blanc, Canada’s oldest electronic music festival and one of the first EDM festivals in the world, featured an exclusive attraction by 45DEGREES, Cirque du Soleil’s events and special projects company.  Five Cirque acts performing during the Sultan+Shepard set were lit by an array of Clay Paky fixtures provided by 4U2C. Held on Easter weekend at the Palais du congres, the Bal en Blanc was produced by Produkt with One Drop as its official cause partner.

HASSELT, Belgium – Creative visual design practice Painting with Light helped take Belgium’s 2016 Schlagerfestival to a new level of presentational excellence with an impressive multi-dimensional stage, set, video and lighting design. The event, which sold out so quickly that a new date was added to make it a run of six shows, was staged at the Ethias Arena in Hasselt, which has a capacity of over 21,000.

GULF SHORES, AL – At the Hangout Music Festival, Bandit Lites provided the lighting for the main Hangout Stage, the Surf Stage positioned at the opposite end of the beach and the AXS TV Stage.  Major acts this year included Jason Isbell, The Weeknd, Alabama Shakes, Cage the Elephant, Panic! at the Disco, Ellie Goulding, Florence + The Machine and Lenny Kravitz. In addition to the nearly 90 musical acts, those who attended Hangout could enjoy poolside seats, a Ferris wheel, volleyball courts, gulf seafood, waterslides, or get married by the ocean under a seaside gazebo.

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – For a high-tech business conference called Domopalooza, Webb AV used 4Wall supplied lighting for keynote speakers including Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Josh James, and Steve Eisman, along with entertainment provided by Nelly and T.I. Staged by computer software company Domo, which was also making a major announcement during the March 21-25, 2016 event at the Grand America in Salt Lake City, Webb AV also worked with design firm UVLD on the project.

GLP Expanding in the U.K. Market

LEEDS, UK – GLP’s recently-established UK operation wasted little time in working to expand the use of its gear in the U.K. market as newly-appointed head of operations at GLP UK, Noel ‘Roly’ Smith (pictured here, left, with GLP’s Mark Ravenhill), made the rounds at a recent trade exhibition in Leeds. The company featured its hybrid GT-1 spot and beam fixture at the show along with the latest accessories in the X4 atom RGBW line up.
