Supporting an A Cappella Group with Lighting and Video

You can’t build the visual elements of the show around the lead singer, because, well, there are five of them. You can’t move in and out on the band because, well, there isn’t one. Clearly the five singers that make up the a cappella group Pentatonix presents a challenge, one that was embraced by a creative team that included lighting and set designer Sooner Routhier and Robert Long; Moo Creative’s editor/senior graphic artist Andy Reuter; and choreographer Lindsey Blaufarb.

Hermes Lights Mexico’s Paragon Tower with PR Lighting Fixtures using Wireless Control

MEXICO CITY – Hermes Music México, authorized dealer for Wireless Solution in Mexico, recently completed an architectural lighting project in the Santa Fe district of Mexico City. Hermes supplied PR Lighting fixtures to light up Paragon Tower, a 151m high hotel, all with LED sources. Ricardo Segura de la Cruz, lighting specialist for Hermes, used WhiteBox F-1 G4S series units, which complemented PR Lighting’s capability to use W-DMX, for control.

Sol3 Mio Tours New Zealand with Robe BMFLs

QUEENSTOWN, New Zealand – Vocal trio Sol3 Mio recently completed a tour of their native New Zealand in February and March in support of their album, On Another Note. LD Joel Stanners lit the trio using 16 Robe BMFL Spots as the main hard edged fixtures. These were supplied by Auckland, New Zealand-based lighting and production rental company Oceania.

Disturbed ‘Immortalized’ Tour

After a five year hiatus pretty much characterized by dead silence, heavy metal legends Disturbed returned with a roar on their Immortalized Tour. Judging from the intensity of their performance, the group must have built up a lot of stored energy over the past five years. Judging from the reaction of the crowds, so had their fans!
