ESA Names Dr. Donald C. Cooper New Executive Director

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – Event Safety Alliance, the non-profit safety trade organization serving the needs of the live event industry, named Dr. Donald C. Cooper executive director. Dr. Cooper will assume daily business management responsibilities from ESA founder Jim Digby, who will continue to serve as chair of the ESA Board of Directors. The Board’s decision on his appointment was unanimous.

PILTON, UK — Created by Joe Rush’s Mutoid Waste Company, two artworks, Peace Time Flies and Pagan Crown, provided visual inspiration for the music-loving crowds drawn to the Glastonbury Festival’s Pyramid and Other stages in late June. The artworks, depicting a large metallic winged clock and a horn-bedecked pagan headdress surrounding a giant pearl, respectively, were bathed in hues from an assortment of Chauvet Professional and Iluminarc LED fixtures.

LAS VEGAS — This is the last week for PLSN readers to vote for their favorite regional lighting companies now in the running for the 2015 Parnelli Hometown Hero Lighting Company of the Year award. This stage of the voting process will narrow the current field of 30 regional companies now on the Hometown Hero ballot down to six regional winners (five U.S. regions and all of Canada), and the Hometown Hero preliminary voting deadline is Friday July 31 at 5 p.m.

Maxin10sity Provides Video Mapping Performance for Karlsruhe Festival

BUDAPEST – On June 20, 2015, the City of Karlsruhe kicked off a 15-week long summer festival to celebrate its 300th anniversary, with the Karlsruhe Palace playing a central role. Dancers and opera performers entertained a crowd of 40,000 before the evening was concluded by fireworks. Maxin10sity provided a 15 minute-long projection mapping performance for the event.
