WELLS, UK – The BBC Children in Need annual marathon TV spectacular is vigorously supported each year by local outside broadcasts spanning the breadth of the British Isles. This year, wanting to stand out with extra pizzazz, BBC Bristol appointed TV Lighting Director, Paul Middleton, to bring the ‘wow factor’ to the outside broadcast from the West Country’s Wookey Hole Circus School, near Wells. ARRI has provide a new light engine, dubbed Light Engine 2, for its L7-C LED Fresnel. ARRI says the change makes the fixture 25 percent brighter. The fixture achieves its luminous output while consuming only 160 watts, and is tunable for color temperatures ranging from 2800K to 10000K. Other features include green/magenta correction, hue and saturation control and more.
