Three PLASA Standards Posted for Public Review

NEW YORK — Three draft standard have been added to PLASA’s public review website. They include BSR E1.31 – 201x (lightweight streaming protocol for transport of DMX512 using ACN); BSR E1.37-2 – 201x (additional message sets for ANSI E1.20 (RDM) –Part 2, IPv4 & DNS configuration messages); and BSR E1.39 – 201x (selection and use of personal fall arrest systems on portable structures). The addition of the three standards, with reviews that run through June 30, brings the current total to six.

Black Sabbath Reunion Tour Lit with Philips Vari-Lite Gear

LOS ANGELES — Black Sabbath completed a string of North American dates with a show at the Hollywood Bowl here on April 26. Their Reunion tour, which began in the U.K. in May 2012, is next slated to perform in Abu Dhabi, followed by another run through Europe in June and early July. For the band’s last European/UK leg, in late 2013, the rig included Philips Vari-Lite VL3500 Wash FX and VL3015LT Spot luminaires, specified by LD Baz Halpin and programmer Michael Keller and supplied by Upstaging.
