NORTH BAY, Ontario, Canada — North Bay Memorial Gardens Arena, which first opened in 1955, underwent a $12 million refurbishment before the 2013/2014 ice hockey season. The upgrade expanded the arena’s seating capacity to 4,246 and included a number of other upgrades, inside and out. The visual centerpiece for the Ontario Hockey League’s North Bay Battalion, which had just relocated from Brampton, Ontario with a 15-year contract, is the four-sided video display hoisted into place by Westbury National Show Systems Ltd.

Bombay Bicycle Club Tours U.K. with XL Video Projections

LONDON – XL Video supplied projection and Catalyst control for the recent UK tour by indie rock band Bombay Bicycle Club. Incorporating video into their live tour for the first time, LD Squib took visual influences from the work of photographer Eadweard Muybridge and utilized early stop-motion animation techniques and stylization. With projection being central to the show, two Panasonic PT-DZ21K 20K projectors were utilized, overlaid to optimize the brightness, with the set circles treated as one large surface, and all the content programed in to one of XLs Catalyst media servers.
