Another Guinness World Record for Projection Artist Ross Ashton

CAMBRIDGE, U.K. – The 2014 e-Luminate Festival here netted a second Guinness World Record nod for projection and video artist Ross Ashton. This time it was for the “Largest Card Illusion Reveal.” Ashton collaborated with Italian illusionist Alexis Arts on the project, creating the visuals with a single 17K Panasonic projector rigged onto a specially constructed tower at the end of the lawn in front of the building.

NORTH BAY, Ontario, Canada — North Bay Memorial Gardens Arena, which first opened in 1955, underwent a $12 million refurbishment before the 2013/2014 ice hockey season. The upgrade expanded the arena’s seating capacity to 4,246 and included a number of other upgrades, inside and out. The visual centerpiece for the Ontario Hockey League’s North Bay Battalion, which had just relocated from Brampton, Ontario with a 15-year contract, is the four-sided video display hoisted into place by Westbury National Show Systems Ltd.

FRANKFURT — LightGeist is calling the launch of its new product range, which includes fixtures called the LightStick, the Badger and, pictured left, the Splodger, an “unmitigated success.” The new gear was introduced mid-March at the Prolight + Sound show here. The RGB LED fixtures can be operated without cables, allowing for immersive effects with multiple fixtures in various configurations.
