Super Bowl Event in NYC Gets Visual Assist from Moment Factory

NEW YORK — Event organizers PPW are bringing Super Bowl XLVIII fever from New Jersey’s Meadowlands to downtown Manhattan on the evenings just prior to the Big Game on Feb. 2. The section of Broadway running from 34th to 47th streets, which includes Times Square, has been designated Super Bowl Boulevard. Moment Factory is providing an assist with large-format projection on the façade of Macy’s flagship retail location. Their eight-minute shows, pictured here in rehearsals, will be seen every half hour from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. between Jan. 29 and Feb. 1.

A.C. Lighting North America Moves to Larger Toronto Facility

TORONTO — A.C. Lighting, which distributes Chroma-Q, Jands Vista, ArKaos, LedGo and Prolyte products in North America, is set to relocate to a larger facility near its current base here Feb. 3. In Memoriam: Katie Louise Broadbent, 35

ROCHESTER, Australia — A woman attending a small music festival here who was found dead in her tent Jan. 26 was identified as Katie Louise Broadbent, 35, according to reports. She had worked as a lighting technician at several Melbourne area venues. John Alexander Forbes, 24, was arrested on suspicion of driving over her tent in the early morning while intoxicated and causing her death.

Mega Pro Sessions Continue – Next Stop is in Dallas, Feb. 5

DALLAS — Mega Systems, Inc., which staged its first Mega Pro Sessions dedicated to hands-on training for its Enlighten lighting control products in Southern California and Arizona in January, plans to continue the series of training events (which also showcase Mega-Lite, PR Lighting, Dicolor, RGBLink, Biema and Omega Truss products) elsewhere in the U.S. in 2014. The company designed, engineered, fabricated, and installed the venue’s Upper Bowl Masking System, which features a series of custom motorized curtain rigs that ring the entire upper seating level of the arena. Performance Event Services Opens New Facility in Florida
