LITITZ, PA — Walter Eugene Clair, one of the Clair Brothers Audio entrepreneurs, died Dec. 3, 2013. Clair, known as Gene, is pictured here at the 2008 Parnelli Awards, accepting that year’s Audio Innovator Award with his younger brother, Roy. Gene was 73 at the time of his passing.

ETC’s iRFR Donations to Behind the Scenes Approach $150,000

LAS VEGAS — At the LDI show here in late November, Dennis Varian of ETC presented a check for nearly $26,000 to Behind the Scenes, which reflected ongoing proceeds from sales of ETC’s iRFR and aRFR (Radio Focus Remote) application for iPhone, iPod Touch and Android. The donation brings ETC’s total Behind the Scenes contributions to date to just under $150,000.

NEW YORK CITY – The new office for Christie Lites New York is officially open for business. The warehouse is in a newly renovated 30,000 square foot space at 13B Division Street in Fairview, NJ. XL Video Supports 2013 MTV EMAs

AMSTERDAM — XL Video collaborated with Ogle Hog to support the visuals for the 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards, which were staged at the Ziggo Dome here on Nov. 10 and featured a UFO-style structure above a spherical stage. XL provided nearly 800 square meters of various LED surfaces, video projections and creative/scenic LED elements plus control and 12 crew. Wieder Design provided the production design and Guido Ruysschaert served as project manager for the event.

FOR-A Named Distributor of Fujitsu Video Gear

CYPRESS, CA — FOR-A has become a distributor of Fujitsu’s encoders and decoders in North America. Used by North American broadcasters, the Fujitsu IP series of H.264 video encoders and decoders became available for purchase through FOR-A on Oct. 1. Models available for sale through FOR-A include the IP-9500 HD/SD video encoder/decoder (pictured here) and the Fujitsu IP-920.
