GREENSBORO, NC – By the time they finish their New Year’s Eve Show at Raleigh’s Lincoln Theater, alt rockers BIG Something will have performed close to 150 shows in 2017. Cameron Grogan, who has lighted all of their performances, can safely say that no two of his lightshows have ever come close to being the same. Much of this inexhaustible supply of fresh looks is due to Grogan’s passion for punting, but some of the credit, he says, should go to the eight CHAUVET Professional Rogue R2 Spot fixtures in his rig.

Green Hippo Ensemble Shines at Inaugural Eurovision Choir of the Year contest

LATVIA – The first Eurovision Choir of the Year contest took place in Riga, Latvia. Organized by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the Interkultur Foundation, the inaugural event hosted nine professional choirs, each one representing a different European country. The venue was the Arena Riga, a 14,500-capacity stadium, and Green Hippo technology was on hand to help deliver a live spectacular, in keeping of the EBU’s best known production, the Eurovision Song Contest.

ASTC USITT Announce Venue Renovation Challenge 2019

NYC – ASTC and USITT are pleased to announce the fifth collaborative project between university students and ASTC member theatre consultants.  Projects will be presented at the USITT 2019 Annual Conference in Louisville, Kentucky – March 20-23, 2019.  By working together with a professional theatre consultant as a mentor, students will learn more about how venues are designed or renovated. Additionally, students will see performance spaces differently and therefore will be exposed to other available career paths within the entertainment industry.
