GLP Promises Tour De Force At LDI 2017

LAS VEGAS  – GLP will set up a ‘village’ environment at this year’s LDI 2017 expo in Las Vegas (November 17-19). The lighting giants will occupy booth #1173, adjacent to their primary suppliers, Cosmic Truss (#1377) and SceneX (#1373), situated across the aisle. The entire display will be bathed in a party atmosphere as GLP’s impression brand — now a household name in the LD’s toolkit — celebrates its 10th anniversary. The complete evolution of the family, from the original impression 90 onwards, will be displayed for the benefit of nostalgists.

NASHVILLE – People attending The Belonging Co. (TBCO) meet in a warehouse venue immersed in downtown Nashville for a unique worship experience. The TBCO Conference is a two-day event filled with breakout sessions, guest speakers, worship, and music. Lighting Designer Andy Rushing turned to 4Wall Entertainment to light the annual conference. TBCO recently upgraded their house rig with an array of fixtures and gear purchased through 4Wall.

LOS ANGELES – The third annual Latin American Music Awards aired live on Telemundo Thursday, October 26th at the renowned Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Lighting Designer John Daniels was brought on for the third year by Darmah Production Designer team lead Rodrigo Proal and Bianca Moncada. John sat down with the VER team to discuss his unique vision for the 2017 lighting design.

WICHITA FALLS, TX  – A cosmetology salon with 26 stations isn’t something you normally find at a high school. Neither are an industrial certified welding shop, nor a fully scaled commercial kitchen, but the $28 million Career Education Center opened this year by the Wichita Falls Independent School District is clearly not your ordinary high school. Dedicated to providing its 1,300 students with real-world experience in everything from microbiology to farming, the 123,000 sq. ft. school provides students with realistic learning centers in 26 different career pathways.

SOUTHFIELD, MI, – Bluewater, an experiential marketing agency that specializes in audio-visual integration and event technology services, is adding 950 Absen M2.9 Indoor LED panels to its rental inventory. This addition takes the company’s total to more than 4,000 panels, of which more than half are Absen LED panels. The M2.9 LED panels will be on display at the upcoming LDI tradeshow in the Absen booth #2528, which will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, November 13-19, 2017.

DETROIT – The new Little Caesars Arena is a 15,000-to-22,000 capacity multipurpose venue and home to the NHL’s Detroit Red Wings and the NBA’s Detroit Pistons. The venue will also be used for a wide range of concerts and events serving as the cornerstone of a new sports and entertainment district in Motor City. Robe’s BMFL Blades and BMFL WashBeams were specified as a major element of the house lighting rig by Eric Wade at Crossfade Design LLC, who was part of the venue’s project leadership team and designer of theatrical lighting and video projection.
