ST LOUIS – Entrants to the 5th annual ASTC USITT Renovation Challenge presented their projects on March 10th at the 57th USITT Conference in Saint Louis, Missouri. The challenge is designed to engage undergraduate and graduate students in real world theatre renovation problem solving.  Students work under the guidance of a faculty advisor and a mentor from the American Society of Theater Consultants. Each team selected an existing venue, developed a scope of work for improvements and presented their ideas to a live audience and Jury of ASTC members at a USITT Conference Session.

Show Featuring Germany’s Five Eurovision Finalists Lit with GLP GT-1 Hybrid Fixtures

COLOGNE, Germany — LD Jerry Appelt designed the lighting for a live broadcast on Feb. 9 that presented the five finalists vying to represent Germany at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Appelt specified 52 of GLP’s new GT-1 hybrid fixtures for the production, which took place in the studios of Cape Cross Studio + Filmlichtgesellschaft GmbH, in Cologne-Mühlheim.

ChamSys MagicQ MQ500 Stadium Honored with PIPA Award at Prolight+Sound

USITT 2017 Brought Technical Theatre to St. Louis at America’s Center

LOUIS – USITT’s Annual Conference & Stage Expo took St. Louis by storm over the span of March 8-11 bringing 5,500 attendees and 307 exhibitors to the city, making this our biggest yet. This is second time St. Louis has hosted the Annual Conference, bringing in an economic impact of $5.88 million, with attendees filling 10 hotels in downtown St. Louis and patronizing local arts venues and dining establishments throughout their stay.
