Opeth’s Big Shows at Wembley Arena, Other Venues Lit with Claypaky Fixtures

LONDON — Stockholm-based heavy metal band Opeth has been rocking some pretty big venues with specially designed shows for NYC (Radio City Music Hall, Oct. 1, 2016), London (Wembley Arena, Nov. 19, 2016) and the Sydney Opera House (Feb. 6, 2017). Although these shows were part of their world tour in support of their Sept. 30, 2016 album release, Sorceress, they featured extended sets with songs from previous albums as well, and doubled the light rig.  LD Magnus Boyd turned to Siyan Limited for an assist with the Wembley gig, deploying extra Claypaky fixtures, new Aryrton units and grandMA2 consoles for control, all of which were sourced in the U.K. via Ambersphere Solutions.

Visional Productions Uses Avolites Media Servers for Passion 2017 Youth Conference

ATLANTA — Visional Productions, an Atlanta-based design company, used three custom-built media servers running Avolites Ai V9.1 software and an Avolites Quartz console to control and live-edit a mix of pre-recorded content and live-streamed video at an annual three-day Christian youth conference. The event, Passion 2017, which took place Jan. 2-4 in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome, drew audiences of 50,000 young adults from around the globe.
