Claypaky Mythos and Sharpy Fixtures Light Up Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl LI Halftime Show

HOUSTON — LD Bob Barnhart, who has lent his talents to 19 Super Bowl Halftime Shows, included Claypaky Mythos and Sharpy fixtures in the rig used to light Lady Gaga at Super Bowl LI.  Barnhart used 56 Mythos on field truss set against the upstage wall below the first row of seats. The lights were positioned on 2.5-foot spacings from the center of the field out to the 20 yard lines. A grandMA2 console also controlled a portion of the lighting complement at Houston’s NRG Stadium.

TMB Celebrates the Life of Tommy Stephenson, 1963-2017

SAN FERNANDO, CA — TMB has planned a number of tributes for Tommy Stephenson, who died Feb. 21. In addition to being a longtime employee at TMB, Stephenson, who had to retire in 2013 due to health reasons, was also the company’s first employee. The TMB remembrances will include a toast for Tommy at the company’s USITT booth at the end of opening day, Thursday, March 9.

LOS ANGELES – Four years ago, in his final year of graduate studies at Cal Arts, Grant Dunn signed on as an intern with TMB’s Tech Support Department, specializing in video server support and programming.  Since that time, Grant the Renaissance Man became a full-time TMB employee and has since served many valuable functions at TMB, from Video Editor, to Tech Support, to Event Management, and most recently, Sales/Customer Development, calling on and helping TMB’s customers throughout the Western US.

CHINA – The Shaanxi Tourism Group employed a range of modern technology to stage “Xi’an Incident,” marking the 80th anniversary of one of the turning points in the Chinese Civil War.  The production used the most advanced lighting, sound, automation and multimedia mapping technologies to create an immersive viewing experience for audiences.  Three d3 4x4pro media servers powered an extensive array of laser projectors and LED screens.
