D.T.S. MAX L Compact Moving Head

D.T.S. Lighting’s MAX L, like the company’s MAX, offers users four different types of projection with a single moving head: Beam, Spot, Wash, and Studio. Although both fixtures make use of Philips’ MSD Platinum 16R 330W (16K lumen) light source and share many other characteristics, the MAX L offers a few differences in terms of beam angles and optical specs, and the company touts the beam, in studio mode, as being “evenly diffused as never before.”

NEW YORK — Billy Joel’s 2014 performance schedule includes an open-ended monthly residency at Madison Square Garden here. The artist’s longtime LD, Steve Cohen, is using GLP Impression X4 LED fixtures supplied by Atomic Lighting. Along with Cohen, who has supported Joel’s shows for 40 years, the tour and residency are supported by lighting programmer Mark Foffano who has worked with the artist since the 1990s.

Hot Ice Show Producers Upgrade with Jands Vista L5

BLACKPOOL, U.K. — Amanda Thompson, managing director of Blackpool Pleasure Beach and president of Stageworks Worldwide Productions, noted that Stageworks, which had acquired a Jands Vista T2 desk to support its Hot Ice Show production in 2011, recently upgraded to a Jands Vista L5 to support the increasing complexity of its ice skating spectacular.
