SGM X-5 Strobes Give Legendary Hacienda A Birthday Treat

MANCHESTER, UK – To celebrate the legendary Hacienda’s 30th anniversary (though the club has been closed since 1997), a rave was organized in the concrete car park under the original Hacienda venue. Low ceilings and limited power meant they needed high impact from a low energy source. SGM’s new X-5 LED strobes solved their production needs.

SOWETO, South Africa –The newly built Soweto Theatre, designed by Afritects, opened May 25 with Philips Strand Lighting dimming and Selecon luminaires. The equipment was selected to handle the theatre’s three spaces, which can stage a diversity of performances.

VANCOUVER – Vancouver’s BC Place stadium has become a new landmark, due to the new lighting effects system. Controlling the Lumenpulse LED fixtures is a Pharos LPC 60 programmed with the Pharos Designer software. It allows fine-tuned cues to be executed by lighting consoles for big budget halftime shows and by scorekeepers for touchdowns and crowd messages, while allowing building systems to handle the necessary architectural commands and astronomical automation for pre-dawn and after sunset lighting displays.

BUCHAREST, Romania – Linkin Park’s concert in Bucharest was staged under the Prolyte Group’s LT Roof system. Bucharest-based Standard Vision SRL bought the roof to accommodate Linkin Park and a string of other acts coming up which would have heavy equipment requirements, including Guns N Roses, Motorhead, Megadeth and Motley Crue.

BAKU, Azerbaijan – To broadcast the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku, Azerbaijan, the German broadcast production company Brainpool TV on behalf of Ictimai TV, used an extensive installation from Riedel Communications consisting of MediorNet, Artist, RockNet, professional radios and wireless video links.
