ORLANDO — The 2011 Parnelli Awards, held Oct. 29 at the Peabody Orlando, paid tribute to Lifetime Achievement Award winner Ed Wannebo (personally congratulated with a surprise appearance by a Margarita-bearing Kenny Chesney, pictured here), Audio Innovator Kenton Forsythe, Parnelli Visionary Jim Fackert and winners in 24 other categories for individuals, companies and products that all helped the live production industry take a giant step forward in 2011.

In Memoriam: Robert Daniels

ORLANDO — Bob Daniels, an account executive with PRG’s office in Orlando, died Oct. 30 after an automobile-related accident. Daniels, an avid musician, stagehand, tour manager, and lighting designer, began his touring career with the rock group Blackfoote in 1979.

Charlie Hulme Rejoins Philips Vari-Lite US Sales Team

DALLAS – Lighting industry professional Charlie Hulme has rejoined Philips Vari-Lite as Central US sales manager. The move is part of Philips’ realignment of the North American sales team. Hulme’s first stint at Vari-Lite was in 2003 as Western Region Sales Manager. In 2007 he moved to Lightolier Controls as National Sales Manager. In 2009 he took on the position as Quotations Manager at Strand Lighting, until his current move back to Vari-Lite – all of which have been under the same Philips corporate umbrella.
