SINGAPORE – The Youth Olympic Games brought 3,500 Olympic hopefuls aged 14 to 18 from 204 countries to Singapore last year to compete in 26 events. The Opening and Closing Ceremonies, seen by 27,000 live and 2 billion via television, were lit with more than 1,900 fixtures provided by PRG. The more than 600 moving lights used for the events included Clay Paky Alpha Beam 1500s and Alpha Spot HPE 1500s.

NEW YORK – For the Big Apple Circus's recent Dance On! show under the Big Top, Scharff Weisberg provided lighting, audio and video equipment for a new entrance tent in Lincoln Center Plaza's Damrosch Park. Last week, I found myself in need of a compact yet high output LED source. I needed to fit four individual light sources inside a 10-foot tall birthday cake that could effectively light dancers perched on top of this scenic element.
