Chicago-based Production Designer Michael Apostolos again joined forces with Jennifer Hudson to design the set for her new talk/variety show. For his first TV set, Apostolos created a warm and welcoming environment for Hudson and her viewers.

BLINK®, Illuminated by ArtsWave, is the nation’s largest light, art, and projection mapping experience. On October 13 – 16, BLINK was back with their first event since 2019, using much of Cincinnati, OH and Covington, KY as a canvas. Run by the Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce (Chamber), BLINK was a four-day, 30 city block, outdoor art experience that unites projection mapping and light-based installations with street art. Legendary lighting designers Jules Fisher and Jennifer Tipton were each honored with the Ming Cho Lee Award for Lifetime Achievement in Design, bestowed by the Henry Hewes Design Awards during the 58th annual awards ceremony on Oct. 24. “In honoring Jules Fisher and Jennifer Tipton,” said Jeffrey Eric Jenkins, chair of the awards committee, “we celebrate two pioneers who have given us so many important dramatic memories—and have lit the way for those who follow.”
Astera Titan Tubes provided a great solution for the lighting of a rolling ‘small stage’ scenic truck which was central to the action for the 2022 Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival’s acclaimed production of Alessandro nell’Indie (Alexander in India) by Leonardo Vinci, directed by Max Emmanuel Cancic and lit by David Debrinay from Paris and Lyon, France, based design studio, LJOMA. Big concert tours were back in a big way this past summer and The Weeknd’s ambitious “After Hours til Dawn” outing is perhaps the best example. Lighting designer Jason Baeri is using over 450 Elation Proteus Hybrid™ and Proteus Excalibur™ moving head luminaires as workhorse fixtures on the tour, an elaborate, visually striking show that has been selling out major stadiums across North America since July. The first leg of the all-stadium tour kicked off on July 14 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia and concludes on November 27 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The tour is also scheduled to visit South America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Australia.
