LAS VEGAS – The North Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center was once again darkened and filled with bright beams and smoke as the LDI show floor returned with a bevy of new products from Nov 22-24, 2019. Before it was over, PLSN’s Nook Schoenfeld checked out just about every booth at the show, including the brainstorms unleashed at Blizzard’s booth (pictured here). ChamSys MagicQ Software Now Supports Import of GDTF Personality Files

ChamSys has become the first major lighting console manufacturer to release software capable of importing GDTF personality files directly. The company’s ChamSys MagicQ software is free to download for Windows, Mac, and Linux. It supports an output on up to 64 universes without additional hardware or dongles, making it an ideal test platform for GDTF. In addition to importing the basic channel information from GDTF, the MagicQ inbuilt MagicVis 3D visualization and plot views will automatically make use of 3D and 2D information provided in the GDTF files.

West Coast Music Festival Lighting Includes Chauvet Professional Fixtures

TUCSON, AZ – Building on the momentum of last year’s inaugural event, the West Coast Music Festival returned to the Mercado district in downtown Tucson on Oct. 5 with Ice Cube and other hip-hop, DJ and rap artists. John Garberson and his team at Creative BackStage relied on fixtures from Chauvet Professional to add visual impact for the fans.
