Chauvet Acquires ChamSys
SUNRISE, FL — Chauvet & Sons LLC has acquired ChamSys Ltd., the U.K.-based designer and manufacturer of lighting controllers. ChamSys provides Chauvet with a strong presence in the controller market, complementing Chauvet’s lighting fixtures and LED video panels. ChamSys will continue to operate from its facility in Southampton, U.K., led by ChamSys founders Chris Kennedy and George McDuff, who will serve as managing directors, and sales director Tony Cameron.

ETCP To Launch Portable Power Distribution Technician Practice Exam on April 1, 2017
NYC – The Entertainment Technician Certification Program (ETCP) will launch a practice exam for the Portable Power Distribution Technician certification examination on April 1, 2017. The web-based practice exam will consist of fifty questions is available from that date forward for forty dollars at etcp.esta.org/practiceexams. Candidates should go to the “Candidates” link and then follow the menu to ETCP and choose this exam.

d3 Performs Projection Mapping as ‘Music!’ Makes its Mark on Italian TV
ROME – On the Italian TV special, Music!, a wide array of international celebrities shared the stories of the songs of their lives and gave their own live renditions of the tunes. STS Communication, d3’s new rental partner in Italy, provided technical resources for the show, including using d3 to projection map the large dome that topped the set. Music! aired on Italy’s Mediaset Canale 5 in primetime for three evenings in January with 4.6 million viewers per episode.

Matt Collier Goes Green On St. Patrick’s Day With Chauvet
SAN DIEGO – Most of the fans who turned up at The Holding Company to hear a St. Patrick’s Day concert by the popular Irish band The Fooks were appropriately dressed in green. They weren’t alone. TARTU, Estonia – The brand new Eesti Rahva Muuseum (Estonian National Museum) in Tartu has recently opened in a fabulous new single story state-of-the-art 350 metre long architectural masterpiece resembling a portion of a runway lifting upwards … built on the former Raadi Air Base just outside the cultural hub and second city of Tartu, and near to the site of the original Muuseum at Raadi Manor. Around 100 x Robe LED fixtures – a mix of DL4S Profiles, DL4X Spots, LEDBeam 1000s and CycFX 8s have been specified and supplied for the Muuseum’s three main performance, event and conference spaces.
